Whiskey Barrel Aged
Single-origin Guatemalan coffee, rested 30 days in a bourbon barrel, then roasted to order. The green beans draw oak, vanilla, and caramel out of the barrel before they ever see heat — so what you taste is real barrel character, not flavoring sprayed on afterward.
Tasting Notes
- Oak and vanilla from the barrel
- Caramel sweetness with a mellow, rounded body
- A faint whiskey note on the finish
How It's Made
It starts with single-origin Guatemalan coffee, chosen because it is sweet and structured enough to take on barrel character without losing its own. The unroasted beans spend 30 days in a bourbon barrel absorbing aroma from the wood. Only then is the coffee roasted, in small batches, after your order comes in.
About the Alcohol
There isn't any. The barrel aging happens before roasting, and roasting temperatures drive off anything the beans picked up. What remains is aroma and flavor.
Brewing
Best as drip or pour-over, where the barrel notes have room to show themselves. It makes an excellent after-dinner cup.
